Welcome. My practice focuses on the psychological health and well-being of adult who are contending with stress and anxiety.
I earned a Master's Degree, with honors, in Psychology from Pepperdine University and a Doctorate of Psychology (Psy.D.) from the California School of Professional Psychology. I completed my post-doctoral internship at Kedren Community Mental Health and Psychiatric Hospital in Los Angeles, CA.
I have been working in the mental health field for nearly 30 years, helping others, across the lifespan, in a variety of settings including hospital & medical facilities, community mental health agencies, college counseling centers, crisis hotlines, and independent practice. I have provided consultation for multi-disciplinary teams of psychologists, social workers, psychiatric nurses, counselors, and physicians. I have also taught numerous courses (Psychology, Human Services, Counseling) at the college-level and graduate level including serving as administrator overseeing a clinical counseling program and counseling center. Lastly, I served as a secondary clinical supervisor for pre and post doc psychology interns.
I am trained in Psychodynamic, Cognitive-Behavioral, and other evidence-based treatments. As an experienced therapist, my therapeutic approach is to provide an emotionally safe environment and support to help you gain awareness, insight, and effectively address personal challenges that may be standing in a your way of being and relating to others. My job is to help you sift through the wealth of information out there and collaborate with you based on your own personal needs and unique history. I use an integrative approach to offer a tailored treatment plan for each patient. With empathy, understanding, genuineness, and (most importantly a good sense of humor), I work collaboratively with you, at your own pace, to assist and challenge you in building upon your strengths and reach the goals you are committed to achieving.
Let's talk about how you can move forward and use therapy to draw on your strengths and reduce your stress. Contact me to get started.
